Team matchmaking is based on the player with the highest Brawler Trophy count in the team. This ensures that matches stay as balanced as possible and that the skill level matches the highest player in the team.

Team matchmaking in special modes is based on the player with the highest average Trophy count of their top ten Brawlers.
